A&P IR converted dSLR

    Will one of these able to focus and take pictures in absolute darkness?

    an IR converted camera acts just like any regular DSLR..... and I don't know of any DSLR that would focus in absolute darkness.

    I would think it should act the same since the IR filter is over the sensor and not over the AF screen

    iirc it depends on how its converted to IR, i believe theres one type where u need to have an IR filter over the lens as well. those block all visible light and u need to prefocus it without the filter. i could be wrong tho

    you can convert regular lights to IR only, and then use an IR camera :eek:

    they did this when filming Planet Earth for some lion hunting elephant scenses
