My buddy works for AAC, and AAC has three G18's. So, we're looking at becoming proficient with them, and shooting IPSC with G18's. My questions are:

-Is there any rule expressly prohibiting machine pistols?
-If using 33 rd. mags, in which class would that put me?
-How much shit would fill the britches of the other shooters when they saw that?

Also, I was considering shooting Production with a pair of G19's, one on each side, since I'm ambidextrous.

    -Any rules prohibiting this?
-Can I start with 11 rounds in each pistol?
    -Would you laugh at me?

Yeah, I starting looking as soon as I made this thread. Evidently, two blasters is out. Still looking for the G18 issue.

EDIT: Nevermind. Two rules down from the two guns rule is the no burst/auto pistols rule. Fags.

That would make for very interesting pistol matches. But the competitor list would be exponentially smaller.

Edit: No two guns? So no BUG? I would think a transition to a BUG would be a valid scenario for practical shooting.

  7. How are you gonna reload with a gun in each hand? :mamoru:

I think one or all do allow you to carry a backup gun in case yours jams. :dunno:

The rules state that everything must be on a belt, and that the butt of the pistol can't be lower than the belt-line. They also state that you can't have more than one gun on your belt. That kind of rules out shooting with two pistols.

There is very little that is "Practical" about the International Practical Shooting Confederation. Reading the rules just made me angrier about it.

It's just a shooting competition. Take it for what it is or don't.

IPSC is a game. All games have rules. Play by the rules or don't play. For me IPSC is too focused on the mechanics of shooting rather than proper tactics so I choose not to play that game.

Can't you still shoot IPSC and follow proper tactics? You probably won't place but you're still getting trigger time on a course of fire that most people can't setup on the range they normally shoot at.

You can, but there are a lot of situations that are artificially created in IPSC that FORCE you to use poor tactics in order to even see the target, much less hit it. For instance, their "walls," even if they were real indoor walls...shoot through them at the dude right behind them. Etc.
