I have been noticing my nano's battery getting lower and lower. Now im about below 50% the promised 14 hours, and i realized that entitles me to a battery replacement under the apple care and protection plan. But when i take it in to get repaired will i receive the new edition of the nano in return? And my current ipod is the 4 gig which i bought at $250 so if i do get the new version will i get the 8 gig which now retails at $250. Thanks in advance for clearing up the confusion, because i have conflicting opinions from multiple people at the moment.:)

was this so important you had to post it twice?

you will get another 4gb one. just because they don't sell it anymore doesn't mean they don't have any.

Isn't there a way to check on the ipod how much of your batter remains or something? Like in some control screen or something? Does anyone know what i'm talk about, lol?

they will test it to see if it play 14 hours. that will take 3-5 days then call you back if it fails or passes.

Restore it(with itunes 7.0) first and do the battery test ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61475 ) before sending it in.

If they restore it and it works for the recomended amount of time your going to get the same ipod back.

And all of their replacements are like for like. Getting a new ipod... stop being greedy.
