If a 20GB 4th Generation iPod starts up but has an exclamation point, is it fixable? How would I go about fixing it?

i wouldn't do it off of ebay. If it were a legit 4th gen (not stolen or anything) then it would be covered under apple warranty...

I want to say that when this happened to mine(3rd gen) is that i had to plug it into an AC outlet, and reset it that way...

Obviously they're not getting the service they expect. Maybe we should PM them when a question gets answered. :noes: :mamoru: :noes:

exclamation point usually means dead hard drive. a new hard drive would be almost as much as new ipod, just buy a working used ipod off of ebay. only buy broken ipods if you have the time or resources to get a couple cheap and make something of them.

I ended up buying an iPod mini for $250...then the price changed on Wednesday ( i had bought it the sunday before) so I went back and asked for my $50 (price difference) and because i had a first gen ipod mini they were now $180 so I got $70 back in cash. :) So I got my iPod mini for $180. go me.
