Who else has one? I have a 30 gig white
Woop woop, me too! I just took it to the apple store today. I'm going to pick up a replacement in a couple days because mine is broken. Have you put videos on yours yet? How is it?
Yep, I got a trailer on it. IM still working on full length movies, they take forever
30 black, just arrived today
30 black..picked it up on friday. Still having problems importing videos. Gives me an error about file type or something when I go to transfer it from Itunes to the Ipod. These are ones I created using ffmpegx. What are you guys using, and does it work well to convert any type of vid file to h.264 or mp4?
Use quicktime pro or videora (videora is best if your on PC) and t hen of course Handbrake ifyour on a mac.
Dont use h264, just normal mpeg4....I havent gotten h264 to succesfully transfer to my ipod video yet either
handbrake can only convert from dvd, correct? I can't get mine to work on normal mpeg's or any other file besides a dvd
I believe handbrake will do from a decrypted DVD as well...but im not su re about AVI's. Im on PC so I use videora for converting AVI's
Videora is working for you? Itunes kept saying the videos I converted using that wouldn't play on the ipod.
Anyone have a 60 ?
use the latest version, .9 and use mpeg4. Supposedly they fixed h264, but I Like higher resolutions better
Just bought a 30GB black tonight. I don't need to carry 60GB of music with me at all times even though I have like 80GB. Gonna download videora and test it out. Love the screen on this thing.
so i just bought a 30gb ipod but i'm thinking i need a 60gb cause i have so much music. You guys who have 30gb and have way more music think that having a 60gb would be better ?
Got a 30 gigger the Monday after it was announced... straight from China. Hasn't really left the house, though, because I'm still waiting for the case. I'm anal like that.
White 60 GB here. Picked it up yesterday.
I need to look into this Videora thing because I've been using FairUse Wizard to rip DVDs to DivX AVIs, and then GraphEdit with 3ivX D4 Encoders to get it into an iPod-friendly MP4 format. It works but it's kind of a pain.
Use DVD decrypter (have it rip it as one file instead of a ton of them, and make it do the right format a nd stuff) and then rip to the ipod and mpeg4 (and the right resolution, and maybe a little lower bitrate and stuff). Only 2 steps....works great
Do you need all of your music at all times? I know that I'm fine with it holding about 40% of my collection. If you feel that you want to be able to access any song you have then go for 60GB, but it also won't be as thin.
PSP Video 9 worked like a charmsky. Mpeg4 is workin' out way better than h.264. And quicktime is waaaaaaaay slower.
