Let's see if I can explain this. My G/F just got an iPod touch. She has iTunes on her computer (PC) with her songs. I have an iPhone and songs on my computer (PC). Of course she has it synced with her computer. Is there a way I could plug it into my computer and put my songs on it without erasing the songs from her computer?

Elaborate a little? I'm not too much caught up on the iTunes system.

...I'm just not following. Isn't it going to over write her songs with my songs?

I don't think there's a way to do it. There's an application called SwapTunes that allows you to sync to two computers but you will have two separate libraries on the iPod touch. Plus, it's a third party app., not sure if she wants that on her phone.

I want to do the same thing with my iPhone but don't want two different libraries. Why can't I just add music to the main library from two computers? Terrible choice on Apple's part IMO. :ugh:

make sure your itunes account is authorized and logged in on both computers

if it sees that it is the same user, it may not have a problem with that

Interesting, can anyone confirm before I install iTunes on here? I want to sync it on my Mac and PC.

If you connect the ipod and set itunes manually sync it will not overwrite the files that are currently on the ipod. Then if she wants to get the files off her ipod you can use an ipod backup utility to pull the songs that you just put on her ipod from your computer onto her computer.

My wife and I are in the same situation, she has a desktop and a travel laptop for work and I also have a desktop and a laptop, we've been transferring music and files between all four computers without issues.

plug into her computer, then uncheck the "automatically sync this ipod" button

then plug into your computer and drag songs to it.

Unfortunately that doesn't work with the iPhone. The only way is to have two separate libraries using SwapTunes :(
