So, I ordered a new ipod because my current one fell in a pool and broke. Well, 6 days later, it magically started working again, and so, the new ipod that I ordered to replace that one needed to be returned. I hadn't received it yet (it's still in the mail), but Apple said they wouldn't return it because it has engraving on it.

My question is, I want to sell this new ipod which I got for $219, but it has engraving on it with my phone number (with area code) on it. I don't want to open the box and try to remove it, and ultimatly lower the value if I sell it on ebay, but I also don't want it to fall into the wrong hands and get some ebayer calling me a bunch of times. Any suggestions?

tape off the serial number and sand down the back side of the ipod with some 800 grit sandpaper, then move up to 1000 and 2000

I would hang on to it... Water is corrosive, so just because it started working doesn't mean it will keep working. It will eventually quit again.

Uhhh. I dont think people are as in love with you as you think. I dont think whoever buys it will want to talk to you. Im just saying you dont seem to be that interesting. Just kidding. But for real, why would they want to call someone up.

Unless you advertised for new, but they get it and it looks like shit. Then i would call the number.
