so i recently got a video ipod, and still continue to use my nano for working out. Is there a program or procedure you can tell me that will not want to format my ipod?

    Thanks in advanced.

    what i mean is,

    i have two ipods,

nano - used for working out
    video - recently purchased

i had a profile in iTunes with my nano. after purchasing my v-ipod, it forced me to create a new profile/playlist. after dumping some movies onto my video, i plugged in my nano to dump more workout tracks, and it wiped my nano because i had more than one ipod associated with the computer.

    thoughts?

Edit, Preferences, iPod tab, select the option that let's you manually update the ipod. sorry for the vagueness on the last part... my daughter has her ipod in her room and I am just playing the menu from memory.

You're pretty much right on from what i can remember.

You could also try not using iTunes. Personally, i'm not a fan of it... I use Anapod Explorer. Tho, its a pay program. There's an older version of a prog called iPod Agent that is free... if want to try it, i have it and can send it to you.

I use WinAmp to import songs into my Ipod... doesn't do anything automatically, so an 3rd party software would probably be your best bet.
