do you guys prefer either or? i dont like how iPhoto copies your pics to it's own folder, basically making a duplicate file for no reason. is there any way around this? i have tons of pics and this will take up mad space. any other differences you guys like/dislike?

Picasa is head and shoulders above iPhoto, but I use Lightroom.

how's your folder structure? i sort pics like this

    2009-11-1 Trip to Bangkok
    - Raws
    - Around Town
    - Museum of Midgets
2009-11-3 Pics of Jared in Lingerie
    - Raws
    - Naughty Pinup
    - Playboy Style

I find that to be the easiest. Light Room hasnt really helped me with organization.

iphoto has some sweet stuff like facial recognition, export to facebook, books and shit, but yeah, I don't think there is a way around not having them in your library or moving your library to a different drive.

But again, as other have stated, Lightroom offers far more

There's an option in iPhoto to turn off copying your photos to another location. It's in Prefs --> Advanced
