finally got my new iPhone 3g activeting it tonight. So Ive already sold my old iPhone. Gonna be giving it to the guy Friday. I had it unlocked and jailbroke it to firmware 2.0 using pwnage tool. pretty straight forward.

Gotta restore it back to unlocked jailbroken state but with none of my data (for obvious reasons) but also need that when he plugs it in, it sets it up as a new phone and he can sync with it his iTunes.

What do I do? I know thee are iPhone wiz's here

Also if I do a backup of my original iPhone can i restore it om my 3g so I can keep all it's contacts or should I write all them down?

Best bet is to browse the macrumors forums. There should be tons of info there. Thats where I got info on how to unlock my old iPhone after selling it on eBay.

Download the normal firmware for it. Google around and then in iTunes hold control and select the new file. Or you could always just go to settings and clear settings (takes away all of your info).

Nevermind, if you need to get it back to the jailbroken state then just do the clear settings.

If you you backup the old phone before clearing it, it will save everything. When you plug in the new one, dont do the set up new phone, do the option that will basiclayy restore your settings.

I did mine like that, and everything transfered fine.
