Anybody know of any double din head units that can do video playback off of an iphone? I know a bunch are iPod compatible but the ones I've looked up specifically state that they don't support the iphone.

If you get the cord that goes from iphone to yellow (video) and red & white (audio) it should work as long as your HU has those same inputs.

I really want something that can be controlled from the dash and not the iphone, I know that this is doable on the ipod but for some reason the iphone isn't as well supported.

Actually I found out that the Pio F90 F700 F900 all support the iphone and video playback  I'll be probably be picking up the F700.

Alpine just released an iphone headunit, w404, but it looks horrible.

Sorry for the late post on this, w505 supports it.

    I have a w505 and a iPhone.

Is the iPhone connection any different from the iPod? I only have an IPod classic but I cant see why the connection would be different between the two. If thats the case:

    http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=IVA-W505

It's pricey, but using the full speed connection cable, you'll be able to control the iPhone though the HU itself.

If you're intersted, you might wan to give Alpine's CS a ring just to confirm it's iPhone compatible.

It is, I have both the w505 and a iPhone and it works just fine. In fact my iphone also works with my much older IVA-310. Just a little slower than it does with the w505.

If you get the blackbird with the w505, the blue tooth is built in as well and the iPhone works great with that as well, including bringing the phone book to the screen/talking through the stereo/mic/etc. Its pretty rad.
