I just ran the hack and everything is working great, with the exception of my VVM. Anyone using this? Not sure if there is a way to run the hack and keep VVM.

    Edit: see below for fix

Which hack are you refering to? Jailbreak?

You can load different carrier settings onto the iPhone which enables tethering but breaks Visual Voicemail. It also enables MMS and then you do a bit of a workaround on the AT&T site to change the phone they think you have to something other then the iPhone and change your texts to a MMS plan to allow MMS to work. It's yet to be seen if AT&T will do something about both these workarounds or slap people with big charges.

hmm I love VVM as well, I was using pdanet for tethering via jailbreak but I was having all sorts of problems after JB 3.0 with my phone crashing constantly.

I see that some people were able to keep vvm and tethering... Just not sure how.

I was able to load the updated carrier setting, although I haven't been able to get mms working , my vvm stopped working. After a while I was asked to put in my vvm password and vvm started working again. Now I just need to get an AT&T phone so I can setup mms

Or just wait for the update. How did it ask you for your password?

When I would touch the voicemail button, it would dial voicemail instead of showing the voicemail menu. after a couple tries, then it asked me to enter my password, just like it asks you when you first set up your phone.

well if you ever used visual voicemail before, you had to. If this is your first iPhone, then you must setup your voicemail first.

Got it to work. After you install the profile go to settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Or something like that. I did that, and now I have tethering and vvm! Very slick

where the fuck have you been at? visual voicemail has been available since day one on the original iPhone.

and that explains why you don't have vvm, you're on tmobile. :wiggle:

The speed of the tethering is what's so crazy to me. I download files > 200 Kbps
