What's a good prog to track IP addresses? Are they able to track down to name/address/etc.? Thanks.

With Qwest DSL, they had my IP listed by the DSLAM location, which was right across the street from me. That's pretty damn accurate but most ISPs usually give the location to their datacenter/colo. With Earthlink, my IPs are listed as being in Chicago, which I am not near.

There are no program that will do this more accurately then given by publicly available information. You'd have to ask the ISP for the location instead.

Mostly true, but not quite. There are some pay services that are doing finer-grained targeting. For example, GeoIP: http://www.maxmind.com/

There's a lot of neat stuff under the hood over there, to help improve accuracy.

...BUT, not to name / address level, of course. Mostly to city / region.
