Can anyone here recomend some good invoice and scheduling software?

I need to be able to create invoices, work orders, and basically software to get a business started.

My mom bought quicken, but it really doesn't offer much in terms of creating custom invoices.

Look at Quickbooks. Quicken is for home users. QB is for business. It has some limitations but its fine for a small service business. I use my Palm for managing my schedule.

Yea, QuickBooks. They even have different versions for different types of businesses.

I second Quickbooks. It's a great piece of software.

quickbooks does not do an adaquate job with work orders. Quickbooks does a great job with invoices and such. For scheduling look at MS Outlook or the mozilla calander project. If you wanted to go all out you could do Microsoft CRM, Microsoft RMS
