Intruder shot, killed in Whitehall Thursday, March 26, 2009 3:21 AM http://www.columbusdispatch.com/liv...rder.ART_ART_03-26-09_B4_9RDBVO9.html?sid=101 The man fatally shot in a Whitehall apartment early yesterday had forced his way in with two other intruders, police said. The man, whose name had not been released last night, died at Grant Medical Center shortly after the 2:13 a.m. shooting at 104 Fairway Blvd., Apt. C. Police were called to the apartment near Broad Street and Hamilton Road by the tenant. The tenant, who admitted to police that he sold marijuana, said he answered a knock at the back door and was confronted by two men and a woman. "He answered the door and they pushed their way in," said Whitehall detective Steven Brown. A struggle broke out, during which one of the suspects was shot, Brown said. The other two intruders fled. Brown would not say who shot the man, pending further investigation. He said the tenant was cooperating and was released after questioning. "He's a small-scale marijuana dealer," Brown said. "For his safety, we're not releasing his name." Anyone with information on the two other intruders is asked to call Whitehall police at 614-237-6333. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information that leads to their identification and arrest. The program may be reached at 614-645-8477 or toll free at 1-877-645-8477.
