Internet Explorer Script Error --- All Day Long

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by BakedLikeLays, Dec 8, 2008.

  1. I am having a huge issue with these damn Script Errors. They are always blank and I have to close about a thousand of them every time they pop up.

I get them when I try to get into Windows Update, User Accounts, and randomly throughout as well.

    Any ideas?

    Running XP SP3.

Turn off script errors in IE?

  4. I tried to get into the Internet Options menu and got an error saying I don't have permission, however I am the Admin....

I think I have some bigger problems going on.

Yea, I remember seeing some spyware that doesn't allow you into ceratin admin apps....

I'd run a spyware scan ASAP. Malware Bytes Anti-Malware is a good one.

    Yep, you got spyware son.

  7. I have ran about 10 different spyware/malware apps and nothing has fixed this issue. I still get the IE Errors, and when using FireFox I get new tabs going to AntiVirus 2009 bullshit....

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware should have been able to get rid of Antivirus 2009. I worked on a machine that had that and was able to remove it.

You can look here for a removal app, and it also contains manual removal instructions.

People make a lot of money writing good spyware. It'll hide inside System Restore, it'll hide inside Windows File Protection, it'll leave a process running all the time to reinstall itself the moment it gets deleted...basically you have to do all your work in Safe Mode, and you have to have Task Manager open all the time for days afterwards to watch for new processes that pop up when you haven't done anything.
