so, i have an internal hard drive, brand new, and an external usb2.0 enclosure... but i can't get my computer to recognize it. the computer recognizes that there's something plugged in when the jumpers are set to master, but i can't access it and it doesn't show up in "my computer"

    any ideas?

right click on my computer and click on manage
under storage on the left, click on disk management
find the drive in the list, right click it and click on format
format it as ntfs if you're on xp

If it's a Western Digital hard drive, take all the jumpers off.
