Some of you may be familiar with Bruce Gray. From his own website, "Bruce is a master craftsman gunsmith, Grand Master USPSA champion, USA Olympic and SIG Arms shooting team member who specializes in pistol training, pistolsmithing."

I just came across an interesting post on the sigforum that I think does a great job of talking about why bore axis isn't everything that I thought I'd point out here. The original post it at http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/353108186

Hmm. I like that read. There's quite a bit more to shooting rapid than just bore axis, of course, ie, barrel length, OAL, weight, and personal preference... but it sounds like the recoil pulse matched the shooter's natural cadence best with the SIG, where that might not be true for everyone.

I would love to hear his comments on shooting a Steyr, which I'd put up against a P7 variant for lowest bore axis.

Whats the barrel action like in the Steyr? Since the P7 is a fixed barrel blow back gun it has a distinct advantage as far as bore axis since the barrel doesn't have to have a lug to tilt on.

Browning cam action.. which would seem to defy how low the bore sits. But I've compared it back to back with XD40s and GLOCK variants, and damned if low bore axis is the only thing that I can think of to attribute the tameness of the pistol.
