Interesting observations on cars in China

    1st, the driving is pretty nuts; cars go where they please and you just have to avoid them. The road conditions are quite good in Beijing, but poor due to overloaded trucks in the countryside.

    VWs and Audis are very, very common. Many businessmen are driven in W12 Phaetons, I just saw someone who looked like a German getting into one. My guide told me that the 7 series outsells the 3 series in China. Not very many of either yet though.

    i was driven around in a honda oddyssey in china.

    the countryside roads are horrible :o

    I saw one one the highway on Saturday. Second one I have seen recently. Very unimpressive. Looks like a big, ghey, Jetta.

    I've seen a couple Phaetons, about the same number as A8's, 7's, and S's that I see...

    There is no such thing as yielding in China and you are encouraged to drive against traffic if your side of an intersection is blocked.

    yes driving in china sure is scary. i know most cars there are vw/audi (especially the red taxis), but i didn't see any phaetons while i was out there. oh wells.

    VW and Audi worked out deals with those Commies quite a while ago to have their cars built there - that's why there are so many :o
