I am sure the older folks on here remember this but I had never seen a full breakdown on exactly what happened.

One bad guy took 12 different wounds before going down. 2 FBI agents dead and 5 wounded. 2 BGs dead.

Its interesting how much of modern terminal ballistics research as well as weapon selection by LEO's today is really because of that one incident. For all the talk some people make about the .223 round being underpowered, it did alot of damage that day. People talk about how you only need to worry about someone continuing to fight if they're a drug user high at the time, but these two guys kept going without chemical assistance. It was a terrible way to learn what was learned that day, but it is probably the most important single event with regards to terminal ballistics and law enforcement which also means non-leo's.

It is a pretty interesting read either way. The amount of punishment the one BG took before being incapacitated along with the temporary incapacitation of the other one, only to find him up and about again, is pretty interesting.

And as soybomb said, it was really an eye opening incident for many people, especially law enforcement.
