So I stopped in to chec on .22 and .223.

Turns out they had 5 boxes of Fed .22 550 pack and 4 boxes of Fed .223 100rd packs.

I asked the cashier for 4 boxes of the .22s and 1 box of the .223s.

He scanned the .22s and asked if I was 21. I showed him ID, and I wasn't 21. So he wouldn't sell it to me.

I insisted that I was able to buy it, so he asked if I'd like to see a manager. I said yes.

So I'm waiting, and this other Asian man points to the last box of .22s and asks for it, then he says something to the cashier and the cashier says that thats all they have. So not being a dick, I asked the guy how many boxes he wanted. He said two, so I just told the cashier to give him one of mine that were on the side waiting.

5 minutes later, a lady manager comes out. He scans it again, and again, it shows "is customer over 21?" She sees this, and says that he can't sell it to me. I tried explaining state laws, but she said nope. So I said, "Thanks" and walked off kind of pissy.

So I took about 20 steps, then busted out my G1, and looked up Wal-Mart Corporate. Got the number, called for customer service, waited 10 minutes, then finally got a lady on the line.

I explained what had happened, she took down my info, and called the store to get the highest manager on shift to meet me at sporting goods.

While I was waiting, I went back to the counter and just told the guy. "Just a heads up, I just called corporate, and they're gonna get the highest manager on shift over here." I told him that I wasn't trying to get him in trouble or anything, but I am just trying to get what I'm entitled to.

So at this, he was saying that he could have done something wrong, and tried to scan it again. This time, he did something different, and it asked if I was 18. So just as we discover this, the head manager on shift, the same lady, came back. "I know I just spoke to you, but.." I ended her sentence short and said, yeah I think we have it figured out. So then I was able to get my ammo.

Took me maybe 30 minutes to get my ammo. During that time, 3/4 of the .223 were gone, leaving my original box on the shelf.

Since WMD Seems to be as gay as the main, cliffs:
Went to ww, dude wouldn't sell me the ammo, called manager, manager said nope.com, then I called corporate, corporate said they'd send the head manager on duty, cashier figured out what he did wrong, I get my ammo and give up a box for another shooter.

yeah they're supposed to ask if its for a rifle or handgun since it could be either. he entered it as handgun meaning you needed to be 21.

That's odd since walmart is known to only hire the best and brightest, and have customer service that's beyond reproach. :dunno:

...and complaining about the service you're getting from a retailer that scrapes the bottom of the talent (and wage) barrel will surely improve said service!

They almost didn't let me buy alcohol because I wasn't 40 years old. I tried explaining to the woman that you only need to be 21 to buy alcohol and I couldn't care less what her fucking computer says. She ended up selling it to me.

 they only want the clerk to ask for id, if they look under 40... i find it that i only have that problem, if it's and older person at the register.
