Intel Celeron M Processor vs Intel Pentium M

    I am looking at a notebook for school and i dont really know what the difference is between the two processors, but the celerons seem to be cheaper why?>

    Smaller cache (onboard memory), slower bus, slower speed per clock cycles.

    Now, if you are doing work, no difference between the two. If you are doing anything with 3D or any other processor intensive processes, it makes a difference.

    just school work, papers, maybe powerpoint, no games or anything maybe some music and watching DVDs

    how about the battery life? i want one for school, but my only concern is price, weight, and batterlife.

    Some reviews I've read have indicated the Celeron M also sport the same power saving features as the upscale Pentium M (Centrino) chip. The difference may be 1 hour more or less. In fact, the Celeron M is quite a surprising performer in the area of power management.

    Difference is skin deep; you won't notice anything cosmetically, aside from a sticker stating Celeron M; and performance of course.
