I'm getting a SmartDrive message saying it was unable to locate/load it.
I'm pretty much getting stuck at the process where it says it's copying the setup files and it just freezes there doing nothing.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you booting off of the Windows CD? I only remember getting that message when running setup after booting off of a boot disk.

Yes, I'm trying to boot off a boot disk (not CD).

The administrator here encrypted or disabled the BIOS on the laptop completely. We are unable to change the boot sequence and only have floppy as the first boot device.

We have to go through a whole shitload of people in order to get this task done and we are basically trying to bypass everyone and do it ourselves.

well, I'd say go through the proper channels... Security measures are in place for a reason -- regardless of their practicality.
