Currently, my 2002 toyota corolla has no rear speakers. I am planning to buy rear speakers and install them myself as a learning experience.

What sort of tools should I need?
And how would I cut the holes in the back to fit the speakers in?
What kind of wires do I use to connect the speakers from the head unit? Do I buy them seperately?

    Thanks for any help.

You will need an air saw to cut out your rear deck. Most speakers will come with a template you can follow. You will also need to run new speaker wire from your deck to the rear of your car. On an aftermarket deck, the colors for the rear speakers are green and purple. You should use 16awg speaker wire which can be purchased at any audio shop. Good luck and be safe.

I bet its pre wired and already has holes in the rear deck for the speakers. How I'd cut through the covering would depend on its material.

You probably can get factory grills to make it look factory if you wanted.
