Ok so I swapped out the hard drive on my old slot loading g3 imac. How do I install panther? Just start it up with the disk inside?

Yep, I think you can hold down "C" while the grey screen is up to force CD boot.

It's not showing a gray screen, just black. It was acting weird and started just showing the black screen and not booting up. That's why I switched hard drives to start fresh. Do you think it'll be a problem?

So you don't get a startup "bong" or whatever? If not, sounds like something more serious than a HDD. Even if your HDD was bad, it still should boot the BIOS.

Yeah, I'm not getting anything. Oh, that sucks. Thank you though.
