OK, I'm sure this has already been answered, but I'll ask anyway...

I have a "copy" of leopard, and I want to install it on my CoreDuo Macbook... I don't have the ability to create a DL disk... I want to do a clean install from my WD Mybook external HD (not the firewire version), but I'm not sure what I need to do...

Plus, i have pretty much no computing ability, but if you put it in terms a monkey can understand, I MIGHT be able to figure it out...

    thanks guys... :wavey2:

here what I did, I don't know if it'll work for you or not since I used a firewire drive.

    1. Create a partition for the .dmg
    2. Move .dmg file to the new partition
    3. Restart computer, hold command or alt or whatever it is
    4. Boot from the leopard disk image
    5. Upgrade / Erase and Install

    I think I used this as a guide: http://gwhiz.wordpress.com/2006/09/21/installing-leopard-from-dmg/

I did it from an external.

It was firewire though, so maybe that makes a difference. :dunno:

Has to be FireWire to boot from it if it's not an Intel Mac.
