GUN installing extended mag tube on 870

    Evidently mine has the 2 little dimples in the mag tube that retain the plastic piece. Need to dremel those out to allow the extended mag tube to work.

    Anyone done this?

    I used a regular Craftsman hand file, was pretty easy.

    I did mine. I drilled them out, then cleaned everything up with a Dremel, then cold blued it.

    Pay a lot of attention to getting the inside of the tube well smoothed out polished. When i first re-assembled mine the follower got hung up because I hadn't done a good enough job the first go around.

    Dremeled them out, blue it just a second ago. Will do a function check shortly after it dries.

    Now if I can just find a decent sling....

    Ah, ordered a CQC sling with mounting hardware.
