so a desktop im working on recently took a hard fall and stopped booting. it would bluescreen halfway through the XP loading page. i figured the hardrive must have been damaged when it fell, so i replaced it, formatted the new drive and tried to reinstall XP, it bluescreen immediately after setup starts copying files. i just tried a vista install and it wont even load the installer interface. it just bluescreens, "Page fault in nonpaged area" is contained within the stop message. i havnt come across anything like this, what do u guys think?

faulty memory or cd is 99% of the time. Other 1% is bad cpu or bad hdd.

Download the iso, burn the image and boot off that cd. Let it run at least 2 full passes, if you get any errors, you need to figure out if it's only 1 stick of ram or multiple sitcks, if it passes that, make sure you're running a full format on the drive, not just the quick. The full checks every sector, the quick one doesn't.
