i went to the army recruiting office on wed. to get some more info on a program. the (master?) sergeant there was pretty useless. i asked if there's any bonus, he says no (though i've heard otherwise). he also told me i have to wait til 6 months before my EAOS to apply, so another year for me.

my problem is i don't want to wait that long. i was on antidepressants, though my Rx ran out, and they didn't help anyways (guess i'm just an unhappy camper). what that means is i'm grounded and can't control planes for a year, at which time they'll reevaluate me. so right now i'm stuck at the base recycling shop doing bullshit work meant for e1-e3 (i'm the senior e5 controller, btw). so basically i'm pissed that i can't do my job, and want to do something else. i thought blue to green would allow me to switch over in an unusual circumstance such as this.

    thoughts, comments, DIAF's?

A coworker of mine was a controller, he had a medical issue and was forced to crosstrain.

I have never heard the part about being within 6 months of your EAOS but I have heard that there are no bonuses. Find a better recruiter? I am sure there are plenty of eager ones that would hound you for the rest of your life and get you all of the information you want in the process.

I don't think you go through a recruiter for the BTG program.
