i realize that this is not necessarily something you would associate with an arsenal, but wanted to post it here as i figured you arsenal junkies would appreciate a quick review...

i picked this up new for $29.99. its the inova x5 led floodlight. the features on the packaging include: 2 miles signal visibility, 120' effective range, waterproof to 150', led lifetime bulbs, lithium batteries.

i was shocked at how small this really is. you will see in the shots below that a regular pen is longer. this is pretty lightweight. my main complaint is the "holster" it comes with, which is kinda cheesy, but the light itself really makes up for that. i took it into a closet and cut the light out and i like how it lights up. will toy around with it tonight when it is dark outside, as that will be a better test. all in all, i am happy with it.

    here are a few pics:

 how does it compare to a mini maglite?

the mini-mag lite? good question. i actually had one in my truck so i took some side-by-sides for you. granted, i do not know how old the batteries are in the mag, but this should give you an idea of how different the lights are (a police officer friend of mine said that the inovas last much longer because the leds do not draw on the batteries as much as a regular flash light would).

another reason why i like the inova is that unlike the mini maglite, the inova has constant on/off, plus push button on:

just press the back and it comes on, release and it goes off.

sweet, thanks for the comparison. that maglite looks really weak next to it. i have the same one sitting next to me. i might pick up an inova one of these days. i think it was kellyclan who was trying to get me to buy one at one point but i ended up picking up a 3 D-cell + mini maglite combo pack for $16. :o

I should really get a light for my gun... But I have a Sig, does anyone know if I can get rails for Sig P226's? (.40 if that matters at all).

Man kellyclan got me wanting an X1 but now I want an X5 :hs: :o That seller on ebay really gouges on shipping (assuming they just use priority mail), $8.99 is outrageous.

How wide is the x5? I'm wondering if it would fit into a surefire mount.
