Broke my nose a week ago and won't be able to go back to BJJ for another few weeks at least.

Just bitching and moaning, carry on.

I'm a young dude too. I don't care to have my nose look like Ken Shamrocks to get back in the gym a week earlier. If it's not a normal hurt, I keep my dumb ass at home and not in the gym.

  10. I injured my shoulder a few years ago and it kept me from lifting weights for several months. Really sucked.

try something else in the meantime. i can't do any martial arts, so i lift weights and do cardio instead.

  13. little known fact, I know.

I don't claim to be in any fantastic shape (obviously), but I do lift weights now and again, and enjoy doing so.

I have fractured my eye socket as well. That was probably the hardest injury to deal with. The ankle operation was another long and brutal process.

I usually lift 4x a week as well. I've had to can that for at least a little while. Anything that gets my blood pressure up makes my face throb like a son of a bitch.

Got hit by a drunk dude at a concert in Nashville, actually.

The eyes is of the most concentrated areas of blood vessels in the body, so for a month and a half I wasn't allowed to do anything strenous that would get my blood pumping. Needless to say, my cardio fucking sucked.

To be honest it was a weird injury. I hurt it about 6 years or so ago. I had a crappy doc and you would be surprised but 6 years ago they didnt know much about the pcl in comparison to the acl. What ended up happening was they just took it out and I rehabbed a whole lot. The bad thing was my knee became a bit more loose inside over the years and I was developing arthritis. It was kind of weird because my shin bone could gap underneath my knee. Fastforward a bit, I never had it done because I went from my senior year in high school to playing collegiate lacrosse, in hindsight I wish I would have had it done because I would have had much less pain. As I grew older I knew I would develop more arthritis and training in the gym, certain kicks and other moves would just hurt and leave me swollen more than I should have been. I ended up having surgery a month ago to replace it but I think I may have torn it again being dumb. I also knew that to train and get better at things other than wrestling and gnp I would need more stability in my leg.

When I hurt it I knew something happened right away and I finished football practice but shortly thereafter I had an MRI which showed a torn MCL, meniscus, and pcl. I have had my knee debrited 2 other times so its pretty numb around the knee. If I recall time did stop as well and it happened blocking a dumb punt:rofl:. As I said though I had no acl damage which is really rare when injuring the pcl.

In a month Im having more meniscus removed from the other knee hurray!.
    Moral: knees suck
