Well I was think about joining a different gym but the gym I was planning to join has $150 initiation fee. Those can be waived correct??

The gym I joined a while ago there were no initiation fees so I don't know about the process how getting the fee waived.

And if they can how do I go about successfully getting the gym to waive the fee.

    Thanks.

I've gotten out of the sign up fee three different tmes at golds. Just you as broke and you'll come back later. That worked for me.

that is FUCKED. the gym i work at charges 447 student rate, that INCLUDES 20 dollar establishment fee for new members. existing members dont even pay that 20 dollars when they renew. community rate for gym only is 525, including that same establishment fee.

    150 is fucking RIDICULOUS

you need to tell them the bottom line is the only way you are joining their gym is if they wave the fee. Go through the Sales Manager, or General Manager.

I paid exactly that, 150 to sign up so my payments would be 14.99 a month instead of the no-initiation fee of 39.99 a month.

Tell them it's a recession and $150 initiation fees don't cut it any more.

    Look at other gyms too.

If they refuse to waive the fee just treat them like a car salesman. Give them your number, tell them to call when they want to be reasonable and leave.

If anything I'll just stay at my current gym. Both gyms are about the same distance from my house. I have a free pass for next saturday so I'm going to go there get a free workout then think about if I really want to sign up.
