So, I recently inherited some guns from a relative that owned a sporting goods store that closed down in the 1960s.

    This is the haul:

    Mossberg (bolt-action rifle, has original strap attached) - model 800A .308 - serial# 036xx

    Marlin (lever-action rifle) - model 336RC 30-30 - serial# AC572xx

    Winchester (12ga shotgun) - model m59 Win-Lite, 12ga, 2 3/4 chamber - serial# 115xx

    Ithaca Gun (16ga shotgun) - model 37 Featherlight, 16ga, 2 3/4 chamber - serial# 10061xx

These guns sat in a basement, inside zippered cases, and HAVE NEVER BEEN FIRED. They smell a little funky from basement mildew, and the Mossberg has a tiny bit of rust in one spot from moisture, but otherwise they're in mint condition. I even have the original box, wrapping, and tags for the Ithaca.

Anyone have any idea of value, or can point me in the right direction of a site/forum to check out besides gunbroker? TIA

gunbroker is probably the best place to get a reasonably accurate market value. The marlin is probably the most valuable but even then we're not talking huge bucks.

Screw the marlin. Best throw it away. The back of my truck is commonly used for trash. I suggest you put it there.

Are Marlin lever action 30-30's that sought after? Cuz I got one sitting in my closet. :dunno:

They're not especially rare, but they built very well and rock solid. I have a 336 sitting around too. I want an 1894SS in 44 mag next.

    +1

I make my gun buying decisions based mostly off how good they will look in the hands of a nekked woman!
