Info on jetting?

    I was woundering what exactly jeting your bike is...what does a jet kit do?

    What are each different stage like stage 1 jet kit, stage 2...?

    I think it makes how lean or rich you run your bike adjustable

    Jetting = changing the jets in your carburators. When you add an aftermarket exhaust pipe and K&N filter, you need more fuel also. The "stages" just referrs to how large the jets are.

    so a fuel injected bike doesn't need jets? :confused:

    i'm pretty sure that fuel injected bikes don't use jet kits, but have a power commander instead to control the amount of fuel that is mixed with air. and when you buy an exhaust, it will come with or you will have to go find some maps to use with the power commander to get the mixture right. i'm just guessing though. better to ask someone who's done it themselves. :)

    You buy an ECU reprogrammer which adjusts the computer's fuel maps to provide the extra fuel on FI bikes.
