I had a nape surface bar and a dermal anchor below it making a triangle of surgical stainless balls on the back of my neck. I took them all out about 5 months and they had completely healed over. Im not sure if i have a really deep pimple where the nape surface bar went or if i have an infection. Is it common for healed piercings to get infected after they have healed over on the outside?

    Might be a keloid:

Obviously not as advanced as the examples shown, but they happen pretty frequently with piercings. I've had them occur on both of my ears and my tongue. Ugh.

I had that happen kinda when I took out my first nape bar. It was just healing. It went away after a while.

Happens to my nipples all the time. Not sure why but they really hate being pierced, I love them being pierced so they are going to live with it. There are different types of solutions and home remedies that you can look up. Most of them are salt water solution to try and help it heal quicker.

Not likely. You probably had hypertrophic scarring not keloids.

Im not ruling out cystic acne at the moment. I dont get pimples like that often but i have had them in the past. Im just being careful not to poke at it and will keep a close eye on it.

Those Keloids look a bit scary :ugh:

Really? That's what my piercer buddy called them. I ended up having to remove them by choking them off with a piece of dental floss. Basically made a small noose, choked it, and let it basically rot off for a week. The one on my tongue was disgusting.

It's a huge misconception made by a lot of piercers actually.
