As always, I shot Infected Mushroom while they were in town. I will also be shooting Ultra Music Festival this year thanks to them.
    (Canon 20D; Sigma 18-50m f/2.8 EX DC; 430EX)

    Enjoy.

motion blur from a longer shutter speed... the parts that arent blurred are probably hit with a flash..

It happens. If I wasn't using a longer exposure then you wouldn't get the cool lighting effects. Unfortunately I'm working with slightly dated equipment and not top of the line gizmos. I prefer the blur with cool colors over stop-motion and whited out with flash. Add in the guys jumping and moving around and you get what I produced.

Most were ISO800 with about 1/4 sec exposure and F5 - F6 or so. Normally I shoot 1600 in clubs, but they were using the strobes and different bright lights a lot with their pounding music, so a lot more shots get ruined when you're trying to capture something at 1600 and all the lights come on. So 800 is playing it safe, and with F5-6 even if I mis-focus on a subject they will most likely still have enough detail to be publishable.

you should totally get a low aperture 50mm lens, the 1.8 is a good starting point..

I've used it. Not a huge fan. When I get some money again I'll drop it on a new body and some L glass; I had to sell my old lenses not too long ago sooo I'm stuck with this at the moment.
