Increasing HP

  1. Hey,

I have an old '71 Ford F-150, shortbed with a re-built 302 (350 miles), and was curious about what little things I could do to bump up the horses on it (outside of dropping in a 351).

    Thanks.

Real HP costs money. Wolf's suggestions are the best to get it but pricey as well. The only other option is a supercharger but they can be pricey too. Stay away from bolt ons that claim an extra 10+ HP. Most are debatable at best and can only make a difference when coupled with internal engine mods.

  5. So...if I seriously want to make my truck nice, I'm going to dropping cash.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind, it just might take a bit more time and money than I thought. I plan to keep the 302 because it's like me: small (well, a small big engine)

Dual Plane Manifold, 600 or 625 4BBL, Headers, True duals with a crossover, Headwork (Good Valve job, Milling etc.) easy to get good gains out of old pre smog V-8's
