Got myself a 1990 SE fixed roof hatch today -- found on craigslist with a shockingly low price and snatched it up the same day it was listed. It has some minor issues but is overall pretty damn clean. Somehow it survived the past several years untouched by drift-craze molestation.

This'll be my second S13. :) My first one I sold way back in fall '03 due to problems it had and money I didn't have to fix them. It was the first foreign car and the first sports car (such as it is) I ever owned. Broke my heart to let it go at the time, and I've wanted another one ever since.

Ah...I remember a time before 240SXs were routinely molested ;)...

Nice buy...what are your plans for her?

Just gradual restoration into a nice road car / occasional racer. Fresh paint and fresh KA24DE with I/H/E/cams would be nice eventually.

No SR or KA-T, if I cared about having more than 180whp, which I mostly don't, I'd just get an LS1.

    Yes SOHC ftl.

I would also add that KA's are FTL in general.

Just think of it as an inertia car then the power doesn't matter :) The motor isn't the point of this car, for me.

Also I like the grunt of the truck motor for everyday driving, a tarted up KADE would be perfect for my wants. ymmv.

Naturally. As I learned from Initial D, when you're going downhill, momentum and handling are much more significant than horsepower.

I didn't say I would have 180whp, I said I didn't really care about having more than, which would necessitate a turbo.

And who does cams with stock intake/exhaust? That'd be retarded.

They definitely will be hot cams if you don't let the extra exhaust escape quickly enough.

Shhhh, don't bring logic into this discussion. If it isn't an SR20 or RB26 it must be shit

for the record i never said that people do cams without the normal breathing mods, I said no one does cams as the 4th mod after I/H/E which is would be dumb.

That's probably better left to the old school swaps... stilll

but I'd rather build an entire high-comp KA24DE for the same or less money than that setup cost.

KAs suck in terms of performance, otherwise they are great engines.

    I have owned 3 S13s 2.4 SOHC and DOHC.

If you want performance, SRs are unbeatable.
