I was going to sell this, but it's too pretty now that I have refinished it. I am going to put Mossberg target peeps on it.

Anyway, the cold bluing does not do it justice anymore. Who has sent a rifle out, and who did you use? Thx

How nice of a finish are you wanting, and how much money do you want to spend?

Blueing usually isn't "cheap", to get a decent finish. To get really nice finishes, it can be crazy expensive.

This is a Westernfield, which was the Sears store brand of Mossbergs many moons ago. This is not an expensive rifle. I just want a decent, even finish to equal the stock.

In any event, I think I found a small smith to do it.

That would likely be your best bet.

I didn't figure you were looking for a master-class finish, just something that would look better than cold-blue. All the big name people that I know of would end up wanting 3x the guns value to reblue it, and that's just insane. I was going to recommend that you just ask around locally and see if you couldn't find a smith with a bluing tank. There's a guy around here who does it, and I think he charges like $100 to do a rifle.
