Ah, one of the large amount of bands I forgot to list, heh.

I was under the impression they're an Irish band?

  10. Since when are KMFDM, Third Eye Blind, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, and Minor Threat "unknown" bands???

Flogging Molly = another great irish band (tradition irish folk music with a big punk influence...............think Dropkick Murphy's but more irish, with bagpipes and violin/fiddle)

About every band that everyone else listed is popular besides like 5.

KMFDM = Unknown in America, Sonic Youth = Unknown in America for the most part besides those who follow the indie scene, Third Eye Blind = Weren't really popular besides some catchy songs, Soundgarden = Weren't really popular, about a gazillion times less known than Audioslave, Minor Threat = Unknown in America except to those who really follow punk.

That's the genre those bands are grouped into, yes.

  15. SMALLTOWN ZEROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and straylight run (ex-members of taking back sunday)

  16. Soundgarden not known????? I can think of 2 videos off the top of my head that got regular rotation on MTv. And I can think of at least 6 of their songs that got steady radio play on pop radio stations. Granted their earlier stuff (like Badmotorfinger) wasn't really appreciated at the time it came out, but a majority of people would know who they are if you mentioned the name.

Third Eye Blind had a song on the radio. Granted it was only one song but they are still known. To me, known just means that a majority of people recognize the name of the band.

KMFDM, Sonic Youth, and Minor Threat, i'll give you them. Just for the fact that only people that are actually into those genres of music will recognize them. I just don't really see them as that unknown since there are a lot of people who do know who they are.

it actually struck me as odd that Minor Threat made the list :o

Just a couple because I don't wanna type a novel: A Life Once Lost, Boys Night Out, Evergreen Terrace, Murder By Death, US Bombs, Nodes Of Ranvier, RX Bandits

I'll make this simple for you:

I listed bands that if I ever brought up in conversation to people I know, they wouldn't be aware of their existence.

I don't particularly feel the urge to justify myself to someone on a forum who's trying to question me for listing a bunch of bands I don't hear about much just because he can and he felt the urge to act like an ass, but I figured i'd do it anyway.
