Looking for do's and don'ts of inside shots of couples/people. I know clothes without patterns is best.

What about the background, like inside a house? Shoot them with a giant aperture to blur the background slightly? Or just go something like f/8 with a close background.

    Thanks in advance.

    good luck :mamoru:

guess it depends on if they want their home specifically in the shots or are they just too busy/lazy for outside/studio.

Lighting them without causing their shadows will be the biggest challenge. Have them brighter than the background (underexpose the background 1-2 stops) but have them normally exposed. You'll have to use your flash in manual to do this.

Posing. IGNORE THE QUALITY/BACKGROUND/LIGHTING. This was some old test shit and not final products, but it will work for this.

Stack people, avoid having heads on teh same plane. You want to make off axis pyramids of 3 or more people

Avoid having larger people upfront, this also shows heads more or less ont eh same plain.

    instead:

with 2, you want them touching, but avoid random reach around hands. again, heads off the same axis

    wow excellent tips

if i shoot them against a white wall, i can always manipulate the white wall in PS to take out any blemishes/marks etc right?

Here are a few of my sister I did. They were taken in my room and I just edited them in the style she wanted (very glowy/soft). The color one is the original.

It was the effect she wanted. So yea, the clarity was low for the face.

Rather impromptu shoot anyway. She literally knocked on the door and said "wanna take some headshots?".
