you got a sam's club around? my local one has a couple on the floor now, one can be used as a gun safe, but sold as a "fire proof safe" and one is a gun safe. Membership is only like 30-35 for the basic membership (I don't remember I let mine lapse since my GF has a premium one.)

You can also search for safe and a couple more will show up like this one

costco also has this listed on their website

    http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=2&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

but I don't know the cost of their membership and all.

even walmart has one or two

I don't know how these prices compare, but it give you something to compare with.

"Dicks" and "gander" in the same sentence should've bumped this thread into Freakyshiat.

You seem to have the cash to throw around on a nice safe and the potential of eventually have some expensive things to go inside. You might want to consider checking into finding a good locksmith and safe vendor in your area, they'll have the real quality stuff you won't find in stores. There's a guy on another forum who could probably put you in touch with some good people or help you out himself if you're interested.

well right now I'm renting I don't own so I want something thats big like a 6 or 12 gun safe but not one of the big ass libertys. Something around the 500-700 range. Maybe a stack on or sentry but I wan something with a place for long guns and shelves. I have 2 ars 1 ak and a sps tactical on the way the rest are pistols and I have more pistols then rifles.

What are you looking for? Good fire proofing? Heavy? Thicker steel?

possibly fireproof but they will be coved under homeowners, so fire isn't really needed. But just a good heavy inexpensive safe. When I get a house maybe a liberty then but not now.

there are countless smaller safe companies that can make you a better more thieft resistant safes than the big manufactures. I would check around you first.
