apply an effect to multiple files? like let's say i have 20 photos i opened in photoshop. if i wanted to resize all of them at once to the same size, is there some global edit i can use instead of clicking on each photo and resizing? or if i wanted to adjust the brightness to +7 on all the photos. am i dreaming or is there a way?

you can create an action (recording of your "moves") and then use it as a batch process... i havent done it in a while, but i believe its still in there.

[edit] yes, "File | Automate | batch" I used it once to make 1,400 watermarks on my sites photo gallery contents
