how do i disable macro on start up?
You mean that clippy guy?
no, i keep getting a pop up saying some shit bout a macro... i just installed office xp if that has any relevance...
this keeps occuring each time i open word...
They are disabled. Those messages are probably a good thing.
or how about, how do i get rid of them if they are already disabled?
Lower your security level I'd rather have high security and live with the messages than have unauthorized macros running around though.
what exactly are macros? pardon my ignorance...
Little scripts that do things automatically. They can be used to automate things that you do lots in Word, but they can also be used maliciously to harm your computer (or so they say).
ah, i see... i guess no harm in leaving security on high... thanks
Hmm - but why is it running a macro in the first place if you're just opening up the program? I mean a document, sure that will happen, but no document?
WD2002: "Expired or Revoked Signature" Message Appears When You Start Word
Do you have any word "add-ons" installed like acrobat or avery label wizard for example. If you are just opening a new word document and not opening an existing file, it means some kind of addon macro program is trying to run. Since the signature on the macro is expired or revoked it could be a virus, since you are having that weird problem with theme support too. This this start to happen after the same crash?
trying scanning with an online virus scanner.
ran the panda one and nothing came up...
