I know I'm going to be a target as the theif probably knows where I live. As much as I don't want to do it, I am going to go look at a 2006 Civic Si coupe tonight. I chose the Civic because I want something better on gas (I drive between Scranton, PA and Pittsburgh 1-2 times a month), I like Hondas and want one with a little kick to it. Here are the specs on it.

2006 Honda Civic SI coupe (Honda Certified)
    Rallye Red
    Black interior
    6 speed manual
    Navigation system
    37,108.
Asking price: $18990 (Special Internet Price)
7 year/100k mile warranty (ad says it HAS it)

Car is at a Honda dealer in Northern NJ.

I am already preapproved for financing at 6.9% through my bank. I have a few thousand to work with as a down payment. I would love to get it at $20k OTD. Think that is possible? Think I can do better? Lets please try to be reasonable here.

I think you should run an extension cord from the 240V outlet that powers your dryer over to your car, and electrify the chassis every night.

Thats a great idea and all, but I know I'd forget to disconnect it when I go out to my car in the morning.

    No shit? Pictures?

I'm trying to do $20k out the door on the one I'm going to look at. Let me figure out what tax and tags will cost and maybe we can talk.

Yeah, thats what the dealer told me. The one I looked at has a 7/100k powertrain warranty because it s Honda Certified.

Thats another car on my list. There's a 2006 STI in my area for $24k++

Considering I probably won't mod it all that much, I'm not sure if its worth the extra coin.

Drove the Civic SI coupe last night. Super nice car. Clutch was far more touchy than the Maxima and the test drive wasn't long enough to get the feel for it. Definitely has some kick to it. The navigation system/stereo was pretty cool. Only upgrades I'd make are the I/E and probably a short shifter (throws seemed long for a Honda).

Cars I'm considering: (all are 06 or newer unless specified)
    Civic SI
    RSX (both models)
    TSX
    BMW 325is
    WRX
Mazdaspeed 3 (if I can find one)

Going to look at a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon at the urging of a Jeep-head friend, but I doubt I'll buy it.

get a set of baby monitors and put one in your car and the other in the house. that way you can hear if someone messes with it at night.
