Say your driving down the road and your indash dvd player is playing a non porn movie and a cop sees it. You are driving fine and following all traffic laws. Question is, can they give you a ticket for video playing in drivers sight or not.

I know if you are breaking laws and a cop sees your dvd playing, you are screwed, but what if your driving fine.

    Ohio is the state specifically.

if you didn't have passengers yes, yes they can

I did some brief reading on the net as well, state laws are going to differ and i dont know how to go looking up your ohio laws but anyway...

"in-dash displays are nice to have, but according to a recent NBC News report, there are 37 states in the U.S. that have laws against watching TV while driving." - from 2004

I imagine ohio has some law that says you cant watch tv as you drive.

I researched it further and found this in a news clip,

But it was written on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.

Video entertainment is for passengers, so if you have someone in the car with you, you are fine. If you are the only one in the car, or he sees you continually watching the screen and not the road, then you could get in trouble.

This is one of those things where I have to wonder why we even need laws to this effect. Maybe we should let people stupid enough to watch video while driving get themselves and their families killed, so they won't cause problems anymore.

problem is... it's usually a single person, who kills a family.
