In all honesty, how important are deadlifts?

    I haven't actually done deadlifts since HS. I got up around 375 or so back in the day.

    Now, I do a 4 day upper/lower split. I always bench and squat, but I never deadlift. I guess when I was on the football program in HS it always felt to me like deadlifts were pointless.

    What are the advantages? Is it really important to my gains to do them or does it not really matter?

    Thanks. I just hate doing them, but if they're really important I'll suck it up :hs:

    Since I'm on an upper/lower split, what day(s) should I throw them in on? Leg days was when I did them in HS.

    deadlifts
    benchpress
    military press
    sit ups
    curls
    push ups
    jumping rope
    running
    leg press

    personally i could live with just the above, i have to modify the squats due to injury but i still do partial squats because it's that big of a part of my routine,,,,,of course that's just me.
    deadlift works so much of your body it just has to be in your routine imo

    just about every top BBer incorporates deadlifts to their training. they fit in perfectly

    deads are the shit. not only do the top BBers deadlift, but they also have huge numbers too. I know King Kamali and Ronnie are both 800+

    then the next portion of the vid he's bent over rowing up to 495x8 (i think...5 plates on each side) .. this video is crazy to the extreme
