I went shopping for a HDTV for under $500 for my new apartment. I wasn't planning on buying one, but I went against the norm and bought a Westinghouse LTV-19w6 for myself on an impulse. $350 for the TV, $50 for the 4 year warranty, good deal right? :bigthumb:

I guess I should've done my research first.

The sound quality isn't as good as I expected. Actually, it outright stinks. Sounds like AM radio. :wtc:

Does anyone have any good links to HDTV guides for dummies, or things to look at as far as HDTV's? All I really know is that an HDMI input is a plus, and that the contrast ratio, the bigger the first number to 1, the better.

PS: I'm also taking suggestions for HDTV's. I'm looking for no bigger then 19 inches, and no more then $500.

    Thanks,
    Boogieman

I'm new to this whole thing but what's the point of HD at 19 inches?

At that point you can get a wide screen comptuer monitor and use that.

My boss just spent $1300 on an LCD TV, come to find out it's 1024x768?! Ahahahahaha way to go boss!!

No kidding... I guess considering how close you'd have to sit to it, the HD is almost required but still, it seems like a waste to me.

computer monitors always have way better resolution as far as 1024x768 goes, even 10k 60-80" tvs wont out measure a monitor in that department

I simply don't have the money for anything bigger in the financial situation I'm in.. I took the Westinghouse back and got the 19 inch Samsung instead for $50 more.
