Improving lactic acid system

    Not sure if that is worded correctly, but what are some methods of holding off lactic acid, and/or improving performance degradation when lactic acid sets in?

    I've got state representative ice hockey team tryouts coming up in about 6 weeks, and i want to be in the best skating shape possible.

    Recently i've been noticing myself slacking off a bit when im not in the midst of a play, and this is mostly due to my legs feeling like concrete , so how can i improve this?
