    "possible autofocus during movie recording"

rumor? uh, yes. That's not leaked information, that's someone trying to start rumors based on speculation.

[OTAP]Fuck Nikon, who cares about swivel screens and video mode. They are going to fail so hard with this shit. More mega pixels and an f2.8 14-200 is what we need! Nikon doesn't listen to customers and I'm switching to Canon/Sony[/OTAP]

fuck nikon, their shit's too expensive... that and i guess i'm falling into the fanboy class for canon :o :hsugh: Fuck nikon, i shoot canon... cause that's what i've known, that's what i'm invested in, and it's too damn expensive for a broke bitch like me to drop everything and switch.

tbh, the swivel screen on the d5000 isn't a bad idea. I could see it coming in handy, if only to protect the screen when not in use. Have fun with your over-priced gear :hsugh:

I loved having a swivel screen on my old S1 IS. It allowed me to compose a shot with the camera in a position where I'm unable to look in the viewfinder.

I'm a Canon sackrider, but I'd love to have a swivel screen.

Slinging racial epithets on TRS has bored me. I like this place, I just need to stay in OTAP, and damn sure avoid DIAC. But I know I can't, and it will consume me...just like when I finally order that Canon.

They're pretty cheap now, around $1000 used. But yes, I'm sure they'll go down more if this is true.

    nope too effin slow.

I was hoping to upgrade to a 1dsmkii to replace my 5d and a mkiii to replace my IIn. but if I can have a tilt screen, arguably better AF, better noise control, with the only real drawback of less MP, i will surely go for it.

for your line of work, I'm sure you need a little faster auto focus for low lights than what canon offers in the 5D bodies. :o

yes. its very frustrating. the 40d's AF was mucho better than the current 5d. i have now used my buddy's mkii extensively and i would much rather have a d700.

thats the biggest complaint my canon buddy has. he keeps telling me if it wasn't for the L primes he had, he'd switch because of the low light AF and the AF points. :dunno:

canon should stick to ELPH and leave the SLR game to the Nikon.

I wonder how durable the flip screens will be on these new Nikons? It would be cool to have that option, but I shoot Canon and sure love how bulletproof their screens are. Don't have to bother with a screen protector, and if your screen gets scratched it's just a quick $20 repair job. I wonder how much they've sacrificed in durability and ease of use with this new screen.
